Paul begins answering questions from the Corinthians in this chapter. The rest of the book addresses these questions. There are some questions that Jesus addressed in His ministry, and some situations that Paul addresses as an inspired Apostle. The law of marriage as taught by Jesus is made clear. Christians are not required to leave relationships they had before becoming Christians that are not sinful. The things Paul taught here were also taught in every Church.
